Quest anglers still struggling

Offshore fishing remains slow for anglers fishing in Coach Jimmy Johnson’s Quest for the Ring Tournament headquartered in Atlantic City. The first three days produced only 2 blue and 10 white marlin releases plus weigh-in’s of one bigeye plus 68 yellowfin tuna — and 21 mahi.

The Golden Eagle from Belmar reports loads of small bluefish feeding on sand eels at the hills. A few bonito and chub mackerel are mixed in — and giant tuna have been spotted there.

Capt. Ron Santee reported better fluking on his Fishermen from Atlantic Highlands during Wednesday’s charter.
